About Tirath Kamdar (Co-Founder & CEO, TrueFacet):
After earning his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Tirath began his career at his family’s Chicago-based jewelry business where he increased overall revenue by 30%, while overseeing a 10% drop in operating expenses. During this time, he became the “de facto diamond guy” amongst his family and friends. Through this experience, Tirath saw first-hand the troubles that many people encounter when purchasing (and selling) watches and fine jewelry.

Tirath went on to spend five years leading business development and marketing at top e-commerce companies, first at Groupon and then AHAlife, before eventually leading marketing efforts at Fab.com.Seeing an opportunity within the resale market, Tirath shaped the idea of TrueFacet - the solution to the pricing and authenticity issues often faced by those looking to buy and sell fine jewelry and watches online. Compelled to protect everyone from the same disappointment his friends felt years before, Tirath created a marketplace where patrons can safely buy and sell these items from wherever they may have an internet connection.

About Andrew Block (President, TrueFacet):
Fine jewelry and luxury timepieces have been part of Andrew’s career for decades. As Executive Vice President of Marketing & Advertising at Tourneau, Andrew oversaw a period of tremendous growth and built intimate relationships with the world’s premiere watch brands.

With a front row seat to the impact that the changing retail landscape was inflicting on the watch market, Andrew was immediately intrigued by the vision put forth by TrueFacet’s co-founders. As a creator of the original secondhand market, he recognized the need for a high-touch, authentic e-commerce experience within the category and joined TrueFacet first as an advisor, before taking on the role of President.
